5 mistakes in covering up acne – what to do to make them disappear, the makeup artist will say

You have tried all means to urgently get rid of acne, but it never went away, and a business meeting or a long-awaited date is already tomorrow! What to do? Of course, hide them with cosmetics.

 But, as luck would have it, it is because of them that the rash, blackheads, or acne marks look even brighter. What are we doing wrong and how to correct our makeup if such a problem arises, star makeup artist Alena Lapina will tell.

As you know, the best friends of girls are diamonds, and provocateurs of bad mood and irritation, especially at the most crucial moments of life, are … acne. Of course, we can talk for a long time about how and with what to treat the skin, how to follow the diet, etc. And the most important statement: acne should not be masked, but treated! But often a glass of wine, a chocolate bar after midnight, or banal stress can provoke a spectacular and, most importantly, very “timely” appearance of these “friends” in our lives. And this is where you will need the ability to competently disguise them so that there is not even a hint of them on your face! And in this situation, your best friends will not be diamonds at all, but correctors and concealers.

Our best friends are correctors and concealers!

But first, let’s figure out what is the difference between these universal beauty products.
A corrector for masking red rashes is essentially a foundation of a fairly dense consistency, but green in color. His mission is color correction. The fact is that when green is applied to red, a miracle happens: red is neutralized or becomes barely noticeable. Correctors with yellow and purple tints are also effective color neutralizers – a lot depends on the “color” of your problem.

Mistake No. 1: “colored” acne cannot be covered with foundation without the use of a corrector!

When is a proofreader needed?

  • When the pimple is really very red or purple.
  •  When there are a lot of red rashes.
  • When you need to mask the vascular network: the corrector is applied under the foundation, reduces the degree of redness by 70%, and you just have to apply the foundation – and voila! – You are the owner of an even complexion. If it doesn’t work and the pimples are too red and inflamed, then you may have to work them out with a concealer.

Mistake number 2: concealer and foundation should not be different shades.

We select the concealer to match the tone with foundation or skin color. Ideally, it is a neutral beige color. The texture of the concealer is a denser pigmented foundation with a high camouflage ability.

When is concealer needed?

  • When single rashes appear on the skin, they are not bright red in color and there are many of them.
  • In the case of traces of post-acne, dark spots in place of pimples.

Mistake number 3: the concealer is applied to the foundation as the final disguise of a pimple, and not vice versa!

Remember that concealer should be applied over foundation or primer if you have great skin and one pimple on your chin. Thus, it will be possible to hide it completely!

Mistake #4: Don’t forget to set your concealer with powder!

After applying the concealer, let it absorb well into the problem area, and then blend the borders so that the densest coating remains on the pimple, and the borders disappear. And do not forget to set the concealer with powder, this will ensure the durability of your disguise! And yes, a combination of these two products is possible if you are really heavily sprinkled and one remedy cannot cope with it. Then remember the following sequence:
1. Green corrector;
2. Foundation;
3. Concealer locally;
4. Powder.

Mistake #5: Never pop a pimple, especially before applying makeup!

Wound crusts will only complicate the task of camouflage. And do not dry it before makeup. It is best to moisturize it as much as possible with cream or antiseptic, after which you can try to gently remove it with a cotton swab. But here we must act very carefully! Otherwise, a heavily disturbed wound will begin to bleed and it will be almost impossible to disguise it.
