Your task as a mother is to convey to the child the simple rules for using the Internet. Then you can protect your child as much as possible from getting a negative experience on the Internet, and it will be easier for the child to navigate in the virtual world.
- Teach your child to always ask their parents about unfamiliar things they encounter on the World Wide Web. At the beginning of his acquaintance with the network, show the child the possibilities of the Internet and help the little user get used to the new environment: teach him how to search for information in a search engine, show where his favorite cartoons are, and teach him how to turn on games.
- Warn your son or daughter not to share personal information with strangers. It is categorically impossible to tell where he lives, what school he studies at, and where his parents work, not only to an unfamiliar aunt on the street but also to a new friend on the network, the child must firmly understand this. - Teach your child to be polite and kind. When chatting with friends on Skype or commenting on a photo of a classmate, you need to remain extremely tactful. Explain that a rude word can offend the interlocutor both in real and in virtual communication.
