Diabetes is a dangerous disease that develops due to a lack of the hormone insulin and, as a result, an increase in blood glucose levels.
Type 1 diabetes appears suddenly, usually in children, adolescents, and young people under 30 years of age. Type 2 diabetes, on the other hand, develops more slowly – and if it is detected in the early symptoms, you can maintain your health and put the disease into remission.
Signs of Type 2 Diabetes
Type 2 diabetes has some pretty obvious signs:
- Thirst;
- Frequent urination;
- Fatigue;
- Tingling in limbs;
- Rapid weight loss (women may also experience rapid weight gain)
- Falling vision, blurred picture;
- Violation of the menstrual cycle (in men – loss of potency);
- Thrush and other fungal diseases;
- Wounds heal slowly.
What to do if you have diabetes symptoms
If you or your loved ones have symptoms of diabetes, you need to take a fasting blood test for blood sugar, a urinalysis for glucose, a glucose tolerance test, and to determine the level of insulin, C-peptide, and glycated hemoglobin in the blood.It is better to take these tests every three years, even without symptoms of diabetes.
