The Americans will come to Odessa to teach Ukrainians how to get acquainted on the Internet. On May 23-25 this year, Odessa will host the iDate International Dating Industry Conference.
The event will bring together owners of leading dating sites, mobile applications, and marriage agencies from the US, Europe, and Asia. Experts will share with their Ukrainian colleague’s methods of solving existing problems in the dating market.
The number of Ukrainian women seeking to find a groom in a prosperous European country, America or Canada is steadily growing. This is due to the smaller number of males – there are 85 men per 100 women in Ukraine, and every 15th Ukrainian woman aged 40-49 is generally a widow. In addition, the number of divorces is growing – up to 40% of marriages in the country break up.
In the 21st century, it is not customary to get acquainted on the street. After all, your profile on social networks can tell more than you need. Where you go, what you drink, how you have fun, who you are friends with, and who you voted for – all this is freely available on your Facebook account.

Despite the fact that the shares of the dating social network Tinder are plummeting, after the announcement of Zuckerberg about the imminent launch of an application for singles on the Facebook platform, many people still prefer this particular online dating service. On Tinder, Ukrainian women can easily meet foreigners.
Most of all, our women attract Asians: there are about 40% of them among foreign suitors. But Americans and Europeans treat Ukrainian brides with caution because along with the attractive image of a Ukrainian woman (a devoted beautiful wife), another stereotype has arisen – a predator who lures money. Such a negative image of Slavs is the result of numerous fraudulent schemes in the dating market. There are many cases when women also encounter scammers on dating sites. All this undermines the institution of marriage in the country.
Women who really dream of a strong happy family have to turn to marriage agencies for help. On average, 250 people apply to 1 agency in Ukraine every year. But domestic matchmakers cannot boast of the effectiveness of their work. Even in the most famous prestigious agencies, 4-5 couples per year are considered good statistics, that is, 1-2% of the total number of applicants per year.
