Always stay relaxed with the battery massage pants

Legs need rest after hard tours, but that can be a tedious task. The rechargeable massage pants from Reboots loosen up your legs at the push of a button. Is the 900 euros worth it?

Hardly anything is as strenuous as real relaxation. At least if you want to give full throttle again the next day after a strenuous tour. The breakdown of the body’s own “slag” means high performance for the body. Lower lactic acid levels. Loosen hardenings and adhesions of the fascia All of this overwhelms a stressed body and needs support. For example through the kneading of a physiotherapist. Or by using a fascia roller, which is highly efficient but also laborious to use.

This BIKE Festival visitor first caught our attention in 2018 for the Reboots boots. They massage the legs with the help of air pressure and are supposed to promote the removal of waste products such as lactate from the legs and relieve muscle tension.

The reboots are something like a mixture of a massage device and a fascia roller to put on. They knead your legs and stimulate the removal of the body’s metabolic products while you sit comfortably on the sofa. We were already able to convince ourselves some time ago of the functionality of the Reboots One, the classic, boot-like version with eight air chambers each. Now there is a new version in the shape of pants, which massages the gluteal muscles in addition to the legs. Also new: the battery-operated control unit, with which you can use the reboots independently of sockets.

Small battery unit and easy operation

Practical: The battery version is significantly smaller and lighter than the normal (and also available) control unit, which is designed exclusively for operation with the Strecker. Hardly any bigger than a lunch box, there is space in every travel bag. Operation is intuitive as usual and can be done without looking at the instructions for use. Time, compression pressure and type of massage can be adjusted as easily as volume or track selection of a stereo system.

Slipping into the pants, on the other hand, is a bit more cumbersome than with the boot variant. Once inside, you can sit back and relax and let the air chambers do their work. In contrast to the Reboots boots, which each have eight air chambers, the trousers only have six chambers per leg. Chamber by chamber, the pressure works its way up, which feels similarly relaxing, as if the gripping hands of a masseur were kneading the tiredness out of your legs.

In contrast to the classic boot variant with eight air chambers per leg, the new pants version only has six chambers per side. Whether the air pressure works slowly upwards chamber by chamber, or whether all six chambers are pumped full and then start again at zero, can be set at the touch of a button.

Depending on the sitting position, the last air chamber can be a bit uncomfortable. If the upper body is in an upright position, such as when watching TV, the air chamber can press the abdomen. But that’s not a problem, because each individual air chamber can be deactivated or activated with a single push of a button. If you sit down, you simply switch off the buttocks / stomach chambers.

Quiet compressor, but high price

Also great: the compressor works so quietly that you can easily look into the telly without turning up the volume. It hums, it hisses. But just enough quietly and muffled so as not to feel annoying or to risk stress with the roommates. When the program is over, which lasts a maximum of 30 minutes, the legs actually feel freer and more relaxed.

The control unit is as compact as a snack box and can be operated intuitively.

The battery life is up to three hours, although we had the impression during the test that the massage power decreased a little as the battery level decreased. As soon as you connect the control unit to the power, the air chambers grip noticeably more forcefully. If you want to use the reboots at home or in a hotel anyway, you can use the much cheaper control unit with mains connection only.

Pros and cons: Reboots Go Recovery Pants

+ good massage effect
+ noticeably loose legs
+ simple operation
+ quiet operating
noises
+ usable regardless of location + possibility of testing (info manufacturer website)

– Price
– can only be used to a limited extent while sitting (stomach is squeezed off)

Conclusion: The Reboots Go Recovery Pants are the perfect tool to stimulate the regeneration of the legs after a hard tour. They are also perfect for relaxing after a hard day’s work. The price of up to 989 euros makes them particularly interesting for racing drivers who strive for the last percent. But if you have financial leeway, you can think about a purchase even if you have no sporting ambitions. For example, to loosen up your heavy legs after a long day at the office. If the price for the reboot set is too expensive for you, you can use the tried and tested fascia roll. It costs just under 30 euros, has a similar effect, but demands a lot more from the user.
