Brackets, due to their shape, facilitate the accumulation of food remains, so maintaining good oral hygiene is essential to prevent possible oral problems such as cavities.
In this sense, proper brushing should be done for at least two minutes after eating any food or drink. Pay special attention around the bracket and below the wires. The brush must be soft and smooth so that it adapts to orthodontics.
For more thorough cleaning, it is recommended to use an oral irrigator, an interdental brush, and dental floss to remove food debris.
