In the case of facial feminization, ‘the objective of the botulinum toxin is to make the eyebrows more arched. And through the hyaluronic acid filler, we get more rounded cheekbones. Introducing higher estrogens results in fuller, juicier lips or a sharper nose.’
On the contrary, in the case of masculinization “we are going to see that when we apply botulinum toxin, the eyebrows are straighter, that we do not have that elevation or arching of the eyebrows. And with hyaluronic acid, the cheekbones will be more lateralized. The chin should be more prominent, that is to say, that if we have a narrow chin, we will make a chin a little thicker and wider to reflect that masculinity, that projection of the jaw; as well as the nose if we have it very small or excessively pointed, make it straighter and firmer, more masculine in short”.
These processes are carried out in an hour and it is totally painless. Local anesthesia is applied and it is performed with highly cross-linked hyaluronic acid. “It is important that the treatment is repeated once a year since the product is absorbable but in this way, they adapt to the facial changes produced by the hormonal treatment,”
