13 minutes – this is how long ideal sexual intercourse lasts, according to American scientists.
The study found that most men and women consider intercourse ideal if it lasts between 7 and 13 minutes. And the claim that you can have sex all night is just a myth.
It turns out that the romantic and long bed scenes that Hollywood movies broadcast and describe women’s romances are just fiction of the authors. In reality, everything is different.
One of the authors of the study, Professor Eric Corti, notes: “Mass culture has established certain stereotypes in the field of sexual relations. Many people today believe in fairy tales about intercourse that can last all night. This, in turn, leads to frustration and dissatisfaction.”
Scientists interviewed a large number of experts in the field of sexology, psychology, as well as doctors and social workers, to find out their opinion about the duration of sexual intercourse.
Experts asked what time of intercourse they considered adequate, too short, and too long.
Most of them answered that on average sex should last from 3 to 7 minutes, but ideally – from 7 to 13 minutes. But if sex lasts less than 3 minutes, then, most likely, the partners remain unsatisfied.
