In today’s article, we analyze and draw the conclusions obtained after testing the Clouding.io company’s VPS cloud hosting service.
On previous occasions, we have explained how important it is to choose good hosting to host our e-commerce. One of the big questions that arise is what type of server to choose since there are several types of hosting with different functionalities, services, and prices, for example, dedicated servers or shared servers among others. At 4webs, we have tested the Clouding.io VPS servers, and in today’s article, we tell you our opinion about it.
Virtual Private Server for eCommerce
This service “in the cloud” offers private virtual hosting paying only for what we are going to use. They give us €5 as a free trial when we register to make a decision whether or not to continue using their service. We can test for 15 days meeting the following minimum requirements:

- 25GB SSD hard drive
- 1 processor core (vCore)
They have images, both Windows and Linux so you can install them in one click. The image you choose will take only a few seconds to display. The theme of the payment of this service is pre-payment, it can be configured, in such a way that you enter the balance when and how you want. If you want to make a backup, you have different options choosing the history and frequency that suit you best and its price is very affordable. You have the possibility to clone the server through its Snapshots, which are created instantly. They are available by email and telephone in Spanish, since it is 24/7.
They offer the option to choose between RAM, CPU, and SSD disk and to increase or decrease them at any time (except the disk, which can be increased but not decreased). When you do a resize, the server restarts and in seconds it’s ready. The good thing is that three copies of your server are saved, so in the event that one fails, another one starts instantly without you knowing about it. They comply with data protection regulations and the data does not leave Spain. You can register and unsubscribe whenever you want, without minimum fees or permanence commitments.
How to register and create a server?
Once we have registered here on the VPS server platform, we have to verify our name, email account, phone number, and credit card (they charge you €1 to verify it but they return it to you). After creating our server in a few minutes, we will be able to manage it in various ways. Within the control panel of these servers we will obtain the public IP address of the server through which we will connect by remote desktop if we have Windows or by SSH if it is Linux.
We configure the DNS with our domain and we will use our IP or domain to connect remotely and thus configure everything. It has an online viewer from which we can carry out the same functions. In little more than a few seconds, we will have our server running and we will be able to shut it down, restart it or resize it with a couple of clicks. It is easy to change the preferences from the panel interface itself. As we mentioned, you can even clone the server using its Snapshots, which are created instantly.
Clouding.io Service Opinion
It is quite simple and intuitive to use. The interface is very clear and dynamic. Customer service is in Spanish, close and available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for any problem that may arise. It is a type of flexible server, fast and with management capacity, yes, you have to have some minimum knowledge because you will manage it. It is one of the differences they have compared to a shared server.
As we always say, opting for one hosting provider or another will depend on your needs, the type of company, and the budget you have.
